At the academy of arts in Zottegem, I have been working on different projects. The projects were mostly created according to a task given by the teacher in the academy.

| Growth processes This project went on in 2007. I let different kinds of food rot in orde to get some nice moulds. You will find the photos in the album. There are pictures of tomatoes, yogurt and white cheese. Bon apétit! |

Ode to Niki De Saintphalle For the Ode to Niki De Saintphalle, I had invited some 70 peopld to participate in the making of an artwork at home where I live; in Velzeke. Every person brought an object that was placed in the work in my barn. I even invited King Albert of Belgium. Unfortounately, he couldn't come. Maybe next time... |

| The cake The cake was a part of the Growth Processes. A friend of mine from Ghent, Martine, had made a beautiful cake for me. The cake stood in my spare room, with a webcam pointed to it. Every 60 minutes, the webcam took a picture that was uploaded to my website. Eventually the cake stayed for more than one year in my house! In the end I had to move it from the spare room, because my wife and children started to complain about the smell. In fact it was the idea that the cake should start to grow moulds, but it all went differently. After about a year the cake was completly dried out and it had shrunk to about 2/3 of its original size. |

Velzeke Sandwich Velzeke Sandwich was based on a movie made by Agnes Varda of France. She made the movie "les glaneurs et la glaneuse" The film is about people who collect or pick up things or food. It could be the last potatoes lying in the field after the harvest or food picked up in waste containers. In a way collecting or picking up food, is the breadwinning of these people. That is how I got the idea of baking bread. I my breads you will find all sorts of picked-up or recycled objects. |
